Decades of painting, building juicy studios, and mentoring countless creative souls has all been in the pursuit of pouring my heart into (and making a living at) everything I so passionately love to do. Driven by a wild imagination and a genuine love of gathering kindred spirits, I quickly discovered that the small stuff like ‘painting for fun’ was really the biggest thing that fed our hungry souls. Over twenty years later I’m still colourfully at it, forever following my playful heart and exuberantly encouraging others to do the same.
I have always been a passionate explorer of paint and dreams. After earning a B.F.A. and B.Ed at Queen’s University I began my teaching career and stayed on that path for nearly fifteen years. In 2011 I took a leap of faith and followed my heart to pursue a lifelong dream of making my art my work. What I learned along the way is that becoming an artist is a perpetual journey full of unanticipated turns but also occasions to pause and enjoy an abundance of enchanting rewards along the way. In both the studio and the gallery I am honoured to have the opportunity to share the infectious joy that creating can bring and to observe the quiet yet powerful way that art can connect us with the extraordinary beauty of life.
